MEET THE MAKER - REBECCA OXENHAM

Hello, my name is Rebecca and I’m the designer-maker behind Rebecca Oxenham. I lovingly handcraft silver jewellery using traditional techniques here at my garden studio, in Hampshire, England.

In February 2020, just as the country went into lock down with Covid-19, I was made redundant from my office job. I had regretted most of my life not going to art college and perusing my love of crafts so decided this was now the time. I finally turned what has been more than just a hobby and my passion into my reality and launched Rebecca Oxenham jewellery

I love nothing more than to be in the countryside or by the sea walking my dog and enjoying the beautiful scenery around me. This is where I get inspiration for my jewellery.  I collect seeds, bark, leaves and other bits and pieces I find along my way to take back to the studio. With constant experimentation, I create beautiful, delicate and unique pieces of fine jewellery using precious metals.

Nature is my therapy. It is where i feel calm and it is always my kind friend. I want to capture this in my jewellery and to transport the wearer to their memories in nature. I actively look to protect the environment and I use recycled gold and silver as well as eco-friendly packaging where possible and I have partnered with One Tree Planted so that for every piece of jewellery that I sell $1 gets donated to plant a tree.  See onetreeplanted.org.

My designs are original, playful, quirky, yet feminine. They transport you the wearer to the beauty of the English countryside. Every piece has its own unique story to tell, a story which will continue with you...
