Shells were once used on the Pagan altar to represent the element of water. They have been used to ward off evil spirits and for their healing qualities. Venus, who is a symbol of feminine beauty, love and protection, is often shown holding a shell.

Like a whispered little message, when worn this shell will remind you of its connection with the powerful energy of the sea and its symbolism of protection, healing and love.

These beautifully delicate gold cockle shell earrings evokes memories of the seaside - perhaps holidays by the beach or time spent paddling in the sea.

Perfectly elegant for everyday or a special occasion. The original shell was found on a beach on the british coast.

Made from recycled sterling silver.  The front of these have been plated in 24 carat gold and the underside is left silver.  While only 1.5cm in diameter, they come in a  finish that captures all the texture and details of the orginal shell.

The matching necklace is available here.
